historical demography (R-3778)

The purpose of the scientific research community historical demography is: 1. Removal and transfer of expertise on historical population demographic and sociological data collection and -analysis; 2. Linking historical and demographic data with other data; 3. Promoting interdisciplinary research, both in terms of methodological and theoretical questions as input; 4. Performing internationally-comparative and longitudinal research. Concerning content, the scientific research community historical demography focuses on the interdisciplinary and comparative analysis of the long-term-interaction 18th, 19th and 20th centuries between social development, demographic processes and biological properties. This project is realized by organizing practical workshops, technical visits, thematic meetings and international symposia.
