Project

High resolution mapping and inhibition of invadosomes by means of single-chain antibodies against fascin.

Invadosomes are specialized protrusions present in cancer cells (called invadopodia) and normal hematopoietic cells like macrophages and dendritic cells (called podosomes). In this project, nanobodies will be generated against structural components of invadosomes enabling us to study the role of those components in structure, maturation and stability of invadosomes. Furthermore, nanobodies will be used to inhibit formation of invadosomes.
