High-content image analysis of cell death communication

The aim is to elucidate mechanisms/functions of intercellular communication via connexins and cytoplasmic calcium changes and its implications on the communication of cell death and release of damage-associated molecular patterns (DAMPs). Connexins form a novel target for therapeutically influencing disease processes in heart/brain. We will apply peptide-based interference with connexin function to limit cell death and DAMP release.
