Project

Governing the political informal economy: case study in three informal markets.

This research aims at detecting the major consequences of the choices in regulation of the Belgian informal economy and at constructing a cost-benefit analysis of this regulation and its effects on the informal markets. This will be achieved by a case study, involving three cases (informal markets): prostitution, street vending and seasonal work. An additional but substantial element for this research project is the impact of the economic crisis recently on informal markets.
