Genetic analysis of cytokines and growth factors involved in the development of radiotherapy complications

the association between genetic variations in cytokines and growth factors and the development of specific normal tissue radiation toxicity will be investigated. This has to lead to the construction of prognostic models which can predict radiation toxicity on the basis of individual genetic profiles. Risk prediction using these models will enable to individualize treatment schedules and to reduce normal tissue radiation toxicity.
