Flexible operation of HVDC links and HVDC grids

The research project aims at developing a mathematical framework that optimizes the controllable HVDC elements in the system to achieve reliable and cost-effective grid operation while considering the uncertainty factor in different operational time frames as well as the multi-stakeholder nature of the system. Ideally, such a mathematical implementation would involve a non-linear, non-convex, stochastic problem of high dimension. It is therefore expected to translate the problem such that it is computationally feasible and operationally viable.
