Film in Occupied Belgium, 1940-1944 'is the title of a Dutch-, French- and English-language portal site that, in accordance with the Digital Humanities approach to work with' open sources', both the data and the results of more than 15 years of research on release film in occupied Belgium. The general public can find out if there were cinemas in a certain region during the occupation, where they were, how big they were and what films they played on a weekly basis. They can also search for film titles, find out where certain films were screened, how those films traveled through the country, and whether those films were eventually re-rotated over time, etc.
