Project

European Cinema Audiences. Research Equipment and Interviewer for the Ghent case. (1501619N)

European Cinema Audiences is a comparative cinema heritage project that explores European film
cultures in the post-WWII period. The project, funded by the Arts&Humanities Research Council
(2018-2021) is led by Ghent University, Oxford Brookes University and De Montfort University. It
stands from the British Academy/Leverhulme fund (2015-2017). The applicant Van de Vijver was
granted this Arts&Humanities Research Funds as a project manager and co-investigator, yet some
essential costs, such as research consumables, job students, and travel and accommodation
expenses were not budgeted for the Ghent case. As project manager, I am in charge of research in
seven European cities, overseeing the work of three researchers and three postdoctoral
researchers. As co-investigator I am responsible for the Ghent case and in need of (1) research
equipment (a laptop, besides the desktop provided by the university) for data collection, directly
supporting research, that in turn needs to be put to use on a mobile device (IPad) in the second
phase of the project, for which we also need (2) an interviewer and recording material. This
application also budgets (3) travel and accommodation expenses for the project manager to attend
conferences and seminars in promotion of the involvement of Ghent University and Flanders as
project manager of this prestigious European research.
