Project

Electro-separation processes for energy efficient resource recovery

The main goal of this research is to improve the insight into the behavior of ion-exchange membranes (electrodialysis, Donnan dialysis, reverse electrodialysis, …) for complex (waste)streams and complex situations. The four most important principles are 1) to increase the recovery of resources and 2) the efficiency of water, 3) the production of less waste, 4) by improving the selective separation between components.
