Dynamic Coupling of Harmonic Interactions through Multi-modular Converters in HVDC grids
The recent appearance of harmonic interactions with converters is challenging the power engineering community. Until now, the focus of the analysis has mainly limited itself to AC systems. Recent research findings have indicated that similar types of problems are to be expected in future meshed HVDC grids.
An outstanding research topic that hasn't given any consideration so far, is the extent to which the converter could actively couple both systems from a harmonic interactions point of view, amplifying the harmonic problems significantly.
