Project

DyMaForm - TOOLKIT for Dynamic Sheet Metal Forming (DyMaForm)

Motivated by the increased use of high-speed forming processes in various industries, the aim of the project is to group a wide range of tools into a unique Dynamic Forming Toolkit facilitating the design and use of high-speed forming processes. Both experimental and numerical tools are included, with the aim to further mature the techniques and show the added value that both tests and simulations can bring to the metal forming industry. The use of appropriate tools at each step of the forming process, from plate to final component, will: - allow to predict if a certain dynamic forming process will be feasible or even beneficial, - overcome current expensive and time-consuming trial and error approaches, and - allow to predict which component properties will result from a certain forming process. Final goal is to expand our collaboration with industrial partners active in the field of sheet metal forming by showcasing the capabilites of the toolkit for specific industrial forming cases.
