Project

Modal testing by combining accelerometers with high speed cameras

This research focuses on developing Visual Vibrometer methodologies. By using High-Speed Video sensing, the core technology aims at extracting quantitative information through digital video processing in order to quantify the motion of a vibrating specimen. The main focus of this research is on structural dynamics applications, while the model-based approach is combined with modern test-driven methodologies. This research will develop (model-based) Visual Vibrometer methodologies, exploring Eulerian, Phase-based, or more classical digital video approaches, such as Optical Flow estimation, in order to meet the high demands of quality and reliability expected for industrial application.
