Combining plasma treatment and (photo)catalysis towards an energy-efficient technology for abatement of polluted air (COP-CAT)

Plasma treatment is a technology for the breakdown of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) from contaminated air. By combining it with oxidation catalysis and photocatalysis, we overcome a number of its limitations and unite the advantages of the three technologies. This synergy should lead to an energy-efficiënt and complete breakdown of VOCs for many applications.
