Chalcogenide Heterostructures as Nanocomposite Phase Change Materials

The unique characteristics of phase change materials make them applicable in several emerging fields such as memory and photonics. Heterostructures are a promising way to improve the efficiency and performance of phase change devices by confining heat to a nanometer domain. Structural, thermal and optical characterization will be used to explore new materials for use in these structures.
