Calculating chain costs for selected Brazilian ports
The main objective of this research is to analyze the competitiveness of the port Açu with respect to container transport. The competitors of Açu which are taken into account in this analysis are:- Rio de Janairo- Santos- VitoriaThe analysis is done in two steps:1) A hinterland analysis is made for the four different ports (comparison of the generalized hinterland cost)2) A full chain cost analysis from the EU and China to BrazilFor the analysis, use will be made of the TPR's Chain Cost Model .
