Application of STD NMR Techniques For The Discovery of Small Molecule Modulators For VWF-A1-GPIb alpha Interaction

In the development of small molecule inhibitors for protein targets, it can often be very cumbersome to discover new leads. Usually large libraries of compounds are screened against the target protein in order to identify a few binding moieties. If no such libraries are available, another approach has to be followed.
In this fragment based ligand design project we plan to use the technique of STD-NMR to identify weak binders for different biologically relevant protein targets and to further develop these weak binders into active compounds.
