Project

Antecedents of parental autonomy- support and psychological control: A longitudinal and experimental appraoch.

This project aims to examine three types of antecedents in the prediction of autonomysupportive versus psychologically controlling parenting. Specifically, we will examine the role of social- contextual factors (such as the family's financial situation), personality features (such as parental perfectionism), and child factors (such as temperament). The project entails a longitudinal study and an experimental study with parents and adolescents.
