Analysis of the labour market position after forced dismissal and the role of the policy instruments.

Reorganizations and collective redundancies are a substantial part of our economic reality. The Flemish and federal government are investing in support for employees who were made redundant due to individual or collective dismissal. Outplacement is one of the central instruments of this policy. This research concerns the following questions: (1) what is the take up of this instrument and what is the effectivity, (2) does the instrument leads to a positive transition (= transition to work) and (3) are these transitions of good quality? To answer these questions, we will use different methods: desk research and telefonic interviews.
