Analysis of the EU-wide baseline surveys on Campylobacter spp. in broiler flocks and on Campylobacter spp. and Salmonella spp. in broiler carcasses Lot No. 2 (R-1425)
According to the regulation (EC) No. 2160/2003 on the control of Salmonella and Campylobacter, targets are to be provided for reducing the prevalence of Salmonella serovars and Campylobacter species with public health significance in animal populations. For this purpose, European Union (EU) wide baseline surveys are carried out, collecting comparable data between the Member States (MS). The specific targets that are going to be considered are broiler flocks and broiler carcasses. Four reports are going to be provided, the first two (Part A for Campylobacter and Salmonella) include preliminary descriptive anlysis and flock/carcass-level prevalence estimation for each MS and at the Community level. The third and last report (Part B) contain a descriptive analysis of all potential risk factors recorded, as well as a model based risk analysis for the identification of risk factors. The overall objective is to analyze and report on the baseline surveys on Campylobacter spp. in broiler flocks and on Campylobacter spp. and Salmonel/a spp. in broiler carcasses.
