Adaptation capacity and ecological impact of the exotix predatory beetle Harmonia axyridis

The multicoloured Asian ladybeetle (Harmonia axyridis) has established itself in our regions after releases as biological control agent. It's a possible threat to native fauna. Interactions between H. axyridis and hoverflies, with Episyrphus balteatus as a model species, will be investigated, both in laboratorium as in field conditions. To assess the potential to establish, the cold tolerance will be determined.
