Landscape Ecology and Nature Management

Section

Lifecycle:1 Feb 2017 →  Today
Organisation profile:
The Landscape Ecology and Nature Management team looks at the functioning of ecosystems as parts of larger entities, at the level of the landscape. Landscape ecological insights support the area-based nature policy, vision formation processes, management planning and nature assessments. The basic motivation of this team is to contribute to the sustainable conservation and restoration of biodiversity by means of policy-supporting landscape ecology research and knowledge acquisition.
Research will be undertaken on the basis of an integrated approach to the ecosystem. Natural as well as human processes and interventions are involved. Nature management, conceived as a set of measures to conserve ecosystems with their characteristic biodiversity, also forms an important part of these processes and therefore constitutes a second specific point of attention within the team.
