Inborn Errors of Immunity

Lab

Lifecycle:1 Mar 2006 →  Today
Organisation profile:

Laboratory of Pediatric Immunology has two main research activities: 1) study of allergic diseases with on the one hand upper and lower airway inflammation (in close collaboration with labs of clinical immunology and pneumology) for which we study in house running murine models of allergic asthma and develop of new mouse models for non-allergic asthma, as well as translational research in patients with upper and/or lower airway inflammation with cross-sectional studies and studies after experimental provocation  (allergen, exercise, cold air, ..) and on the other hand tolerance induction towards allergens, for which we focus on natural (longitudinal studies) and induced (immunotherapy) tolerance and (cutaneous vs systemic) mastocytosis in children; 2) the study of primary immune deficiencies (PID):  for which we perform Exome and genome sequencing for inborn errors of immunity, such as Hyper-IgE and IPEX syndrome: novel mutation analysis, Stat 1 gain of function mutations: clinical phenotype and molecular analysis  and the role of hematopoietic stem cell transplantation for PID.
