Organisation profile:The Research Programme Government and Law aims to explore the relation between law and government in a broad sense, embedded in a legal, political and social context. Central research questions concern the impact of legal, political and social evolutions on the legal concept of government, on the working and competences of public institutions, on fundamental principles such as democracy, rule of law and federalism, and on the protection of persons against government action. The program aims to present the University of Antwerp on a national and international level as a research centre of public law which transcends traditional branches of law and disciplines.
