Organisation profile:

Research Group Computer Security and Industrial Cryptography

The COSIC research group offers a broad expertise in cybersecurity; based on this know-how it develops innovative security solutions that take into account both privacy and usability.

The COSIC research focuses on the design, evaluation and implementation of cryptographic algorithms and protocols, the development of security architectures for information and communication systems, the creating of security mechanisms for embedded systems and the design and analysis of privacy preserving solutions. Technologies that are being developed include post-quantum cryptography, Fully Homomorphic Encryption, Multi-Party Computation (MPC), block chain, threshold implementations against physical attacks, PUFs (Physical Unclonable Functions), whitebox cryptography, secure processors and mixnets.

Our research is applied in environment such as the cloud and the Internet of Things (IoT); applications include electronic payments and cryptocurrencies, mobile authentication, e-voting, biometrics, implantable medical devices, smart cars and smart cities.
