Main organisation:Faculty of Sciences
Lifecycle:1 Jan 1993 →  Today
Organisation profile:The Department of Inorganic and Physical Chemistry is responsible for research and education in general, inorganic, physical and material chemistry. The research group COMOC or the "Organizational Chemistry and Catalysis Center" of the Department of Inorganic and Physical Chemistry specializes in the preparation of advanced porous materials and uses them for a variety of applications, such as adsorption and catalysis. The Luminescent Lanthanide Lab studies lanthanides, also known as rare earths. One of the most remarkable features of these elements is their bright luminescence, which allows them to be used in television screens, light applications and lasers, ... Single crystal X-ray diffraction (XRD) or crystallography is by far the most accurate way to To obtain 3D structures from atomic-level molecules. The XStruct research group uses this technique to determine the molecular structure of different compounds, ranging from small organic molecules and ionic liquids, to metal organic compounds and frameworks (MOFs) to bioinorganic materials, modified DNA oligonucleotides and peptides.
