Contextual Psychiatry

Lab

Main organisation:Research Group Psychiatry
Lifecycle:1 Dec 2017 →  Today
Organisation profile:

The Center for Contextual Psychiatry is a research center mainly focusing on the study of the interaction between the person and the context in the development of psychopathology in general, and psychosis specifically. This is investigated along 4 research lines:

  1. Methodological and Statistical Advances in Experience Sampling Research
  2. Phenomenology and Psychological Mechanisms of Psychosis
  3. Epidemiology and person-environment interactions
  4. Clinical applications and the development of Ecological Momentary Interventions.

The CCP is a multidisciplinary center, currently hosting more than 25 researchers (clinical and theoretical psychology, psychiatry, philosophy, statistics, IT, physiology). The aim of the center is to develop a strong research line in psychiatry, while keeping a close connection to the patients, family, and clinicians. We are, therefore, firmly embedded in the department of Neuroscience (research group Psychiatry) at KU Leuven as well as in the University Psychiatric Center (UPC-KU Leuven). The CCP was established with support from FWO (Odysseus grant to Prof. Inez Myin-Germeys and Clinical Fellowship to Prof. Ruud van Winkel).
