Centre for Archaeological Research of Landscapes

Research Institute

Lifecycle:1 Jan 2019 →  Today
Organisation profile:

The Centre for Archaeological Research of Landscapes promotes archaeological analyses of entire landscapes of the past, using archaeological methods and building historical-anthropological knowledge. It not simply synonymous with the field of geo-archaeology but it stands for an alternative approach of landscape phenomena.

The fundamental rationale is that the limitations of traditional ‘on site-archaeology’ must be breached: entire, real landscapes are the appropriate spatial unit of analysis for human behavior if we want to achieve a full understanding of historical process.
