Aquatische, Wetland- en Estuariene Ecosysteemdiversiteit

Research Group

Lifecycle:1 Mar 2014 →  31 Jan 2017
Organisation profile:

The Aquatic, Wetland and Estuarine Ecosystem Diversity research group evaluates on the basis of monitoring results whether set environmental objectives have actually been achieved and provides an assessment framework for reviewing relevant policies. The group also investigates the impact of (changing) biotic, abiotic, human and spatial factors on biological communities and system characteristics in order to provide the necessary guidelines on conservation, restoration and development of robust ecosystems. By developing dynamic models, we try to assess the impact of interventions on the functional and structural biodiversity of ecosystems. The group mainly works at present on marine and estuarine ecosystems.
