TRP channels in lower urinary tract function

Book - Dissertation

Transient Receptor Potential (TRP) channels are ion channels that can respond to a wide range of physical and chemical stimuli. They are expressed in different cells and tissues throughout the human body and some of them (TRPV1, TRPV4) have well-characterized roles in the function of the lower urinary tract. In this research project, we aim to investigate the role of TRPM3, a member of the TRP-Melastatin subfamily, in normal bladder physiology and during bladder inflammation.
