Project

Developing a framework for mobile identification and monitoring aberrant gait patterns in patients with osteoarthritis using a single trunk IMU.

This research focuses on developing a framework utilizing a single trunk Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) to evaluate gait quality in patients with osteoarthritis. The framework will analyze IMU data to provide insights into the gait dynamics, highlighting deviations that may indicate disease progression. This approach offers a non-invasive and cost-effective method for continuous monitoring of gait quality, which is critical for assessing the severity and management of osteoarthritis. The tool is designed to be adaptable for use in both clinical and real life settings, improving accessibility and aiding in the effective monitoring and treatment of the condition.
