Network representations of large-scale omics data

The transformative technological innovations in molecular biology have led to a huge avalanche of omics data, including genomics, transcriptomics and proteomics. At the same time new technologies for data management have been developed for dealing with big data. This project will introduce these new information technologies to the storage of omics data and develop novel querying methodologies that were not possible with classical database management techniques. As use case the novel methodologies will be applied to large-scale genome mining for novel enzymes.
