Operations Research Applied to Health Services

The objective of this research is to develop a holistic approach for operating room planning and scheduling. The candidate will work on the development of models and algorithms at the interface of discrete optimization, simulation and machine learning. This work aims at providing insightful recommendations to hospital decision makers that help in increasing both the efficiency of hospital’s operating rooms and patient’s satisfaction, and achieving better health outcomes. He/she will find a dynamic and pleasant working environment, in a group that is actively involved in scientific research at the highest international level.
