Homecoming: returnees’ memories and belonging negotiation in Ukraine.

The research aims to deepen the understanding of

how female migrants returning to Ukraine negotiate their belonging.

Starting with historical narratives and collective memories in Ukraine as an important context of return, it further explores the influence of nation-building on gender roles, and the impact on discourses surrounding motherhood and migration in Ukraine, to understand how belonging is pursued and negotiated by the returnees.
