Project

An interpersonal view of sexual desire and psychopathology

In this doctoral project, we investigate the interaction between sexual desire and mood disorders. While most psychopathological research focuses on intrapersonal factors and processes, this project takes an interpersonal approach to unravel the extent to which symptoms of mood disorders are related to the sexual desire of the person with a mood disorder and the sexual desire of their romantic partner. To investigate this, we will, among other things, analyze and reanalyze existing data and establish a new data collection from individuals with a mood disorder and their partner.
