Sabbatical Koen Geuten: Genetics of temperate cereals

My research focuses thematically on biochemistry and genetics of temperate cereal crops.
Until now, we use the model system Brachypodium as a proxy to generate useful knowledge for the crops. However, there is of course an evolution where research directly on the
crops gain in importance. By visiting international top labs/companies in these domains, I want to better define the feasible options for my research group.
In addition, I want to further explore certain topics: dormancy, flowering time, virus resistance.
