Metalepsis in six selected prose works by Günter Grass (1961-2010)
This project aims to analyze the narrative phenomenon 'metalepsis' in six prose works by Günter Grass. The project will investigate the relation of metalepsis to time, space and intertextuality. It will chart the functions of metalepsis in the narrative structure and attempt to clarify this structure. It will be shown that the metalepsis supports the poetics the prose works convey.
