Flamenco: FLAnders Mobile Enacted Citizen Observations (Flamenco)

The purpose of FLAMENCO is to build an open, reusable and reconfigurable citizen observatory. Today, such a citizen observatories for each application domain from scratch developed. See also from 2012 EU FP7-ENV call for projects where each project focusing on a particular topic such as, inter alia air quality, water quality, ocean monitoring and odor monitoring. Developing a citizen observatory so far has an expensive and labor-intensive affair. They therefore remain beyond the reach of most community stakeholders. Through interdisciplinary consortium will not only pay attention to the technological aspects (software, data analysis) but also to the social / communicative aspects (user engagement, privacy issues, translation of data into qualitative statements on indicators, impact and cost).
