Project

Improving diagnostic models of subacute ruminal acidosis in dairy for on farm health management systems

SARA is a metabolic disorder in dairy herds associated
with higher costs and lower animal welfare. The most practical diagnosis is
through monitoring milk biomarkers. This project aims at identifying groups
with higher risk for SARA development to enable targeted monitoring and at
defining the role of the more distal parts of the gastro-intestinal tract to
identify new/additional biomarkers.
