Project

Framing a genetic network for hydrogen peroxide signal transduction in plants

Abiotic stresses like drought and temperature stresses are the major causes of yield loss in cultivated crops. An important issue during these stresses is the induction of photorespiration and subsequent oxidative stress. Both processes negatively affect performance and final yield of plants. This project aims to identify mutations in the Arabidopsis genome that are able to decrease photorespiratory activities or block oxidative stress dependent cell death induction.
