Project

TAOK3 as a regulator of metabolic responses.

My host lab previously identified a role for the Ste20 kinase TAOK3 in metabolism. TAOK3 deficient mice are markedly protected against high fat diet induced insulin resistance. The current project aims at deciphering how TAOK3 affects cellular and organismal metabolism looking at both altered lipid metabolism, glucose metabolism and peripheral insulin resistance with specific focus on Notch, PPARg and ER stress pathways.
