Person marking and aligment in the Kashmiri languages. A typological study of referential hierarchies

This project is a contribution to the ongoing typological debate on how referential hierarchies are associated with alignment patterns. The project will provide a comprehensive analysis of the complex person marking system of Kashmiri and its dialects. This statistical analysis will be conducted from a typological perspective, and genetic and areal influences on person marking will be measured against universal tendencies in a cross-linguistic fashion.
