The processing of multiple facial expressions

Human subjects can extract the mean emotion from complex visual scenes composed of multiple facial expressions shown concurrently. However, the psychological processes giving rise to this fascinating perceptual ability remain poorly understood. In this project, we seek to explore them using psychophysical and electrophysiological experiments, and more specifically to assess whether they are automatic or not.
