Causes and impact of skin ulcers of flatfish in the North Sea.

The increasing prevalence of skin ulcers in flatfish is an emerging threat to the fishing industry. Underlying cause is complex and not yet elucidated. Data on possible involvement of animal-, environmental- and human-related factors will be collected at sea. Experimental studies will be designed based on these findings to gain better insights in the etiology and impact of skin ulcers in flatfish.
