The role of dendritic cells in extramedullary hematopoiesis and chronic myeloproliferative disorders.

We hypothesize that dendritic cells (DCs) have an undiscovered role in hematopoiesis occurring in the spleen, and that absence of a specific subset of DCs can lead to or exacerbate certain forms of leukemia.
