The role of the adipose tissue in the pathogenesis of insulin resistance and increased disease susceptibility in high yielding dairy cows

Obesity around the moment of calving increases the risk to develop metabolic, infectious and reproductive diseases in high yielding dairy cows. In this project, the role of the adipose tissue in the parthogenesis of these diseases, will be examined macroscopically, microscopically and molecularly.
