Influences of Climate Change on Agriculture. The Case of Saline Water Intrusion (SWI) Affecting the Rice Value Chain in Coastal Provinces in Central of Viet Nam

The depletion of fresh water resources in the river basins during dry season, together with increasing SWI has been causing water shortage for agriculture, especially saline water encroaching on land and threatening thousands of hectares of rice and many other plants. Such situation has had impacts not only on farmers but

also on the whole local rice value chain. This raises the question what is the best adaption option for whole rice value chain to cope with SWI. This study will build three adaption options and use CBA method to recommend the best solution.
