Combining optogenetics, chemogenetics, intracranial electroencephalography and functional magnetic resonance imaging to investigate abnormal functioning of brain networks during epileptogenesis
This project will investigate
- how brain networks change during the development of epilepsy using functional MRI, specific neuromodulation tools and advanced network analysis;
- whether epilepsy-related network changes are linked with the severity of epilepsy and the obtained efficacy of epilepsy therapies and
- whether these network changes can be reversed in order to suppress epileptic seizures.
