Project

EU training Network for Resource Recovery through Enhanced Landfill Mining (NEW-MINE)

In this research project a combination of latest-generation geophysical sensors (e.g. multi-receiver electromagnetic induction and stepped-frecuency ground-penetrating radar) is applied to landfills with different sizes, architectures and contained wastes. These multi-sensor geophysical data are used to model the landfill as an anthropogenic deposit, revealing the properties that are relevant for further processing and valorisation in view of enhanced landfill mining.
