Project

School performance of early implanted adolescents with a cochlear implant.

Due to early cochlear implantation deaf children are now entering secondary mainstream schools. In Flanders an exceptional large group of early implanted children has reached adolescence. The goal of this project is to document their performance and problems in class and to predict their outcome with new clinical tests (class-like speech audiometry and cognition tests).
