Simulation and Measurement of electrical transients in photovoltaic solar cells

The aim of this research proposal is to develop new measurement systems and new simulation techniques for the characterization of the transient behavior of different types of solar cells. Measurements will be based on voltage, laser beam and temperature induced currents, the simulations will be an extension of the in-house developed tool SCAPS. With these experiments and simulation tools it will be investigated which defects are present in solar cells, and with which concentration and lifetime.
